He wrote a scene report about the area around Sougheastern

%Descr: A personal newsletter exploring the differances and
simmilarities between David Deming and Erica Eisdorfer and
how it all effects their relationship. Most couples have
complex relationships but few have dared to explore the
details in such a public forum as a zine.
I really liked this issue where they explored the different paces
they both work at, the work they're doing, what their relatives
are like, the early history of their relationship, and an

%Title: INTERESTING!: A Compilation of Things I Find Interesting
Volume 1
%Descr: Issue 1
Written by an M.D., this debut issue of "Interesting"
promises and delivers much that makes it true to its
title--i.e., a potpourri of quips & quotes, facts & trivia,
written from the POV of a medical practitioner.
The most interesting thing about "Interesting" is the fact that
its publisher, Richard Sagall, is the founder and head of MAIM
(Medical Accuracy In Media), which appears to be a one-man
organization whose main activity is writing cranky letters to TV
shows like "Picket Fences," "The Commish," pointing out medical
errors in fact relating to the boob tube's portrayal of homicide,
pathology and related inaccuracies.

%Title: INTERMEDIATE VECTOR BOSONS Issue 38 January, 1994
%Descr: I've seen a letter from Harry Andruschak in just about every
sfanzine I've read. Lo and behold, he publishes a journal
of his travels.
This issue documents, from 1990, a five-week long truck trek from
Tunisia through the Sahara and along the West African coast to
Togo. It's a remarkable adventure, and this issue is a must-get
for all arm-chair tourists interested in Africa. Now that there
is much civil unrest in several of the nations in or near this
trip, you won't be able to take one like it for some time.

abreast of Gary, Lee, Mary, and Valorie since 1988. Always
fun, very personal, and lots of cool graphics. A great
reader's page too.

Mary hates her job, and Valorie visited her parents. Topic of the

%Descr: Well-intentioned rants by Ernest Mann about how distructive
our current society is while offering solutions to the
problems.
In this issue he takes on health insurance, the VA pension
system, the employment system, and explains his Priceless
Economic system where money is abolished. I also liked his short
explination on how he's been living since droping out of society
back in 1969.

%Title: MOM Issue 3 Sept. '93
%Descr: A compilation of all the cards, letters and photos Lee's mom
sent to him. Lee is the publisher but his mom is most
definetely the writer (and an entertaining one too).
She's undecided about what to get Lee for his birthday, she's
pissed about having to work weekends, wrote up some travel tips
for Lee, dove up to Big Slide Lake, and sent a bunch of picture
postcards. She's so hip she even used the work "fuck" in a
letter.

%Descr: A sorta perzine that primarily deal with Mark's many
interesting hobbies.
This is the full issue #25 but it's been abridged to 7 pages to
keep the mailing cost under one once. Mark, I think you can go up
to five sheets of paper as a self mailer. The four-sheet limit
that you held yourself to is typically used for paper send in an
envelope. Anyway, the zine mostly concerns his travels to San
Francisco and around the country. Enjoyable reading from Mr.
Strickert.

Issue
%Descr: 1 Summer '93
An impressive zine. Impressive becasue Jim is doin' 15 years
for various victimless crimes. He's currently in the hole
just for producing this zine. I hope he can get out and
continue his right to free speach.
Inside you'll find some prison poety, prison philosophy, facts
about life inside, comments about society, ideas about virtual
reality, and one of his wonderful life stories.
Remember this is primarily for his family and friends so don't
send any empty impersonal requests. Send him some stamps or maybe

%Descr: Handwrittern personal comments, lists, and hand carved

I like this fat mini format better then his previous thin digest
version. Mr. matteebee wrote for his grumpy issue about how his
perspective has changed as he's gotten older, 10 reasons for
going to art school, stuff he's been eating, his crappy job, and
extensive excerpts from his slacker diary. He also pasted in a

%Descr: Terry Ward been telling us of his stuggles for a while, it
seems like seven years to me. It's uniquely constructed as
just a few attached pages churned out from his home dot
matrix printer.
Terry just keeps on writing. He just sent me numbers 183 through
186 but I rember getting 181 just a short while ago. In 183 he
talks about depression, in 185 he rants about zoos, and in 186 he
fills us in on the local music scene.
Very honest indeed.

Massively chaotic (but strangely enjoyable) personal zine
with angry rants by Jason and politically-oriented quotes
from a variety of others.
This one has stories of a crazy motorist at the SF Critical Mass,
donating plasma for cash, beards in early American history,
praying for material posessions, and Jason's fave lists.
I liked the full page of intriging quotes and factoids. He also
has a few poem pamphlets that he'll probably enclose in an SASE

%Descr: Writings from SRD's apartement in the Lower East Side of
Manhattan. He just moved and his new apartment is no longer
"underground but his interesting outlook on life still comes
though in this breezy reader.
He wrote an stimulating piece about how the March on Washington
was a routine part of the political script and has no real impact
on politics. It sounded very situationist-inspired. There's also
a rant about the oft-used PC term "people of color," the
marketing of "Generation-X" culture, the demagoguery of Reagan's
legacy, and poems about the media.

%Descr: This personal zine has some of the longest, most thoughtful
zine reviews on record, plus all the zine news that's fit to
print (or just fits in print), music reviews, rants, and
news from a feminist perspective.
Tara promises this slimmer version of *Ophelia's Web* is only
temporary and the zine will return to its regular plump style
soon. After re-introducing us to her zine (it's been about eight
months) she explained her proposed replacement for the
Myers-Briggs personality test. It's called the
Scooby-Brady-Peanuts test and you simply select your three
favorate characters from the three different fictional
meta-families. She even printed some sample analysies. There's
also a piece by Ken Rand and some very fine zine reviews.

%Title: PERMAFROST Issue 36 August '93
%Descr: A short, well-written personal zine that mixes politics with
notes on Karl's Seattle life. I don't know how he's able to
write so much *and* put it together with with such style
Here's an interesting take on NAFTA, return Texas to Mexico as a
goodwill gesture. He wrote a tribute to Richard Seffron, editor
of *Extra Cheese*, who recently passed away. I guess the 80's
will never end; the company that Karl worked for was bought out
and last Summer laid everyone off. Karl was lucky enought (or
unlucky enought) to find a new job right away. He even had room
to fit in a literary walking tour of his neighborhood. A really

%Descr: Fall Trimester
Ben Kessler is in the eighth grade, so it's surprising that
this zine, although technologically simple, is as
sophisticated as it is. Of course, he's in the eighth grade
at Choate, which might make a difference.
Anyway, in his first issue, he explores "How to Be an Angry
Preppie," rants against fitness, saying "The people on Planet
Reebok probably wouldn't even know how to build a civilization.
Why? Because they would have no Coke-guzzling, scrawny geeks like
me to help them discover the wheel." Kessler also looks at "Prep
School Dreams" and "Dangling Conversation." Finally, Kessler
looks at subliminal messages in advertising and on Ritz crackers.

PM writes short essays on whatever's on his mind. It's
usually current events with a satirical eye towards the
proposterous.
Unfortunately there are new medical problems effecting the
Kellerman family so *The Lost Peruke will be operating under a
more sporatic schedule for the moment. Nevertheless PMK hasn't
lost his sence of humor attacking the office of the Vice
President, the new heath program, people's belief in history, the
Isrealii/PLO peace negotiations, and football. I also liked his
